Day 2, September 15
Even though I went to bed by 10... very early for me I could not sleep right away. I did wake up at about 530. Got the dogs on an early morning walk in the meadow before breakfast. It was not raining. I had the heat on for a little bit this early AM. I forgot to close one of the windows so it was bit chilly. As we settled in for breakfast... rain rain rain. I still felt pretty tired so went back to bed and by the time I got up again at 930 it started to clear up. And just in time!
Headed out at 10 and got back in at 2. Temps in the low to mid 60s? Overcast but pretty... moody dramatic skies. We did Haley's loop. Just beautiful. The scenery, mesmerizing. The facilities are great.. towels on the chairs at the dog beaches, fresh water stations and cups provided. Well done. Molly, Ben and I nestled at Valley View. I took a bunch of photos. and some self portraits.
Took a nice short nap late afternoon. Up at 5, took the dogs to the through the frisbee field then through the meadow. Molly and Ben seem tired but when I say "ready go?" they stretch out and are happy to go. I actually got Molly's focus on the frisbee when we got to the open field. Took the trail to Valley View again. I felt the stress melting away. Work? What work? This is a prime spot for meditating. Close your eyes and breathe. Would be an ideal place for yoga, if I did yoga.
The meadows look different everytime I pass through. I love that I see the dew on spiderwebs in the morning. That the yellow colors intensify differently with sunrise and sunset. The way the fog rolls through the countryside in the morning giving way to rays of light.
