Day 3, September 16
I had a good restful sleep. The sun was glorious poking through the clouds so I hurried out with the dogs... 730-8am to get some shots of the sun poking through. Blue skies!
After the AM walk, these 2 were already tired and sleepy on the couch. I got ready for our day outing to the other side of the creek. I think this section will be my favorite. Pretty meadows and the dog beaches. The big open tracking field was nice too. Molly was collecting foxtails and teeny green prickly seed pods on her coat. Can you see them in the photo? Ben encountered a cow turd and rolled all over it. No big deal. I had several preening sessions for Molly's coat while we were out and about and Ben got 2 good baths in the Creek. Still a slight hint of funky odor. Poor Ben, he was inching up that last incline on the way back to the agility fields, he was so tired. Am I overdoing it with him? When we got to the frisbee field, Molly was poking around in my pack for the frisbee Played and then relaxed out here a bit. Back to the RV at about 1-130. Ben could hardly keep his eyes open and Molly was out like a light. I fixed lunch, and napped for 30-45 minutes.
At 3pm tour all 7 of us campers will meet Lillie and tour the rescue facilities. Talked to Lillie about volunteering while I am here. I will be walking a dog each day... get em out of the day routine for a good leashed walk and some one on one time. This will be great. While Ben and Molly are getting a rest, I can go help with the rescue dogs. By the time I return, they will be ready for an evening outing. Took Ben and Molly on the meadow walk for the evening. Serene and peaceful. The air is cool again tonight.
Me and some of the campers sat around the bonfire. The folks I met were pretty cool, everyone was nice and had funny stories to tell.
The stars came out in abundance tonight. Shooting stars. Haven't seen a night sky this full in a long time.
